I for one think that we should consider moving the newsletter to our website as the primary source of information. It has many advantages over the mailed copy. One, as our editor states, it's free. It also would allow us to use color photographs. You won't misplace it, it will alway be right here. It will be available to prospective members and may help increase our membership. It will get members to more actively use our web site and the "Forum" feature, that a few of us are trying to popularize. I know there are a few who do not have computers at home but that problem can be overcome by sending them a copy. Some want the newsletter mailed to them only because they like to get mail and look forward to the mailman dropping off their copy... If this club can save $85-$100 a month by offering electronic newsletters, I'm all for it. Check out an electronic version for yourself at Wayne's web server listed in this month's newletter. We could better use the money spent and time saved to offer the members more for their money. This is the 21st century!!! Comments? ? By the way Wayne, Nice March newsletter even though it cost the club $85 and you many evenings of your own time.

Talking about putting the newsletter on our site right this minute may be a little premature. As it stands, our site is not being maintained and we don't know when or if this situation will change. We're trying to contact our webmaster to see what the situation is. In the meantime, I'm doing test conversions to PDF format and putting them on my ISP's web server for you to try. I can't do this forever because I'll run out of space and exceed my bandwidth limit. But go have a look. They're at: mywebpages.comcast.net/wsimpson2/PEDC/ For those that don't have computers or don't use the internet or simply want the mailed copy, we would still do that. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from printing the PDF file locally, in full color, if you want.

I like the idea of the newsletter being delivered via the web for the cost saving feature to the Club. I don't feel an urgency to check out the forum all the time but knowing the newsletter was waiting there for us (like the mailbox), I think we would.
