Hi Everyone, Carl Mertens and I spoke tonight about tomorrow's first meeting at the new location, Woody's. We're hopeful it will work out and be a better spot than our last pit stop at Spring Meadow--as long as we can hear!
Woody's doesn't have a bad menu and Carl and I discussed the best strategy for not getting thrown out again--if you're planning to have dinner at Woody's, perhaps the best way would be to order the food and drink DURING THE MEETING -- to show that the restaurant is generating business while we're taking up their space.
I'm not able to be there but Ken will and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Pat

I've been thinking about this as well and I agree we should make an effort to be good guests at this place to maintain our welcome. There are only so many suitable restaurants in the Farmingdale/Howell area that we can be booted out of. Everyone who comes to the meeting should have dinner or at least a bar drink or two. We need them to know we're not freeloading. And much as I personally dislike the dinner meeting format, we should order for delivery in the meeting room so the connection between club members and meals sold is clear. And, of course, smile and be genuinely friendly. ;D On a different note, has anyone from the club been in touch with the Spring Meadow to let them know we've found a permanent home and thank them for their hospitality while we were looking? Best not to burn our bridges.

The first meeting at Woody's went well and we could all hear each other except for the few in the back. We'll have to get Pres. Mike Neuhaus singing lessons to strengthen his vocal cords a bit. Hope we can keep Woody's as our meeting place as the room is just the right size and "quite". We should hear shortly after Mike gets in touch with the new owners.
