Everyone needs to begin to use this message board in the future as the club will begin to post messages that relate to upcoming events incase there may be a change in plans or rain-out/reschedule. Set aside Sunday June 13, 2004 for a trip to Trenton, (you know: Trenton Makes and the World Takes) for an afternoon baseball game and display of our cars out front prior to and after the game. Tickets will only be $7.00 each and we'll have our own "rooting" section. I know it ain't cricket but it is as close as we Yanks will ever get. Also reserve the first weekend in Oct for a possible drive to Alba vineyards in Warren County for a wine tasting festival. Gary S.

The Oct 2, 2004 Alba Vineyards wine tasting festival has been verified as a go for that Saturday with Sunday the 3rd as the rain date. Each car will be entered onto the field to be displayed and be eligable for (1) ticket at 50% off the admission price. Prices have not been set for this year yet but 2 years ago the admission prices were about $15 per person which entitled the adult to a wine glass and all the tasting they could handle. Food for purchase is available from various vendors there or pack your own picnic.

I was getting a little frustrated trying to register but I think I may have the hang of it now...on Friday I nearly threw the phone across the room trying to get started on the Fleet Bank site; I ended up cutting up the card and happily making deposits at the branch where my dogs get biscuits. Bah humbug.
Those events sound fun! I'll put out the word for the pr photo; I don't have a date/time yet but usually try to pick a date about a month before when the park is free.
Will keep you posted. I spoke with Altha Cook yesterday and told her I'd gladly host a bridal shower for her that would just be car parts from her fellow clubmembers--she's truly one of the guys! She's up for it but I'm thinking I may just incorporate it into the Father's Day picnic. They're getting married in August in Alaska during a cruise.

Chatted with some members over the weekend and conversation included great people, homes, garages, etc. that are people associated with the collector hobby--maybe they have a great garage built or they have something that we know everyone would ooh and ahh over.
Rather than force ourselves to go to a historic site or maybe a more formal destination, we think about arranging a visit to tour something more homegrown. Not that we're moving in with the person, but maybe they would allow us to have about one hour of time to invade their space and then we're on our way to a pub. I'm sure everyone knows or has someone like this -- isn't that how everyone got to know Basil Shadlun? A LEGEND!
Some ideas I had were: Hank Nieb's house that I heard has cars stacked for storage; a visit to a place that blasts paint off or other garage type place; someone who built a great garage for his cars; etc. We all know someone interesting like that and a drive to/from the place could be also part of the adventure.
Maybe if the newsletter goes on the web, we could offer the host of the event a gift certificate to the pub connected with the trip. (PEDC REWARDS PROGRAM?).

Pat, Larry Holloway's place is a must see. I think he has the all time club record...maybe every club's record of total cars in one place. They include some off the wall never seen before cars. Very cool! Larry are you out there??

As far as going to Larry Holloway's place as a "club" event, I would not classify as such since he hasn't paid dues in 3 years...
